Between You And Me
03:19
It’s getting late. All the bars are closed, but you and I are drinking away with our friends in the basement and we’re coming undone. I can’t be sure if you’ve already found someone, but it doesn’t matter now. Just take it slow, take it easy. It’s just the time of our lives. What’s the rush, what’s the hurry? Forever we’ll be young and alive. I’ve never been more ready to close the space between you and me, and I want to make you mine, at least until the end of the night. The summer’s almost over, everyone’s skipping town and the nights are getting colder but we’re keeping warm somehow. Now that I’ve got you next to me, this time I won’t let my nerves get the best of me. No, not this time around. I’m believing what you said now, that this separation’s only in my head now, but we won’t come this way again. Why don’t you just come with me? Palm trees are on my mind, and California’s calling. We won’t come this way again.

Every Day Is Summer
03:19
I’m caught in a vivid daydream where all there ever was, was us, and how it felt so real. We escaped, packed our bags and made a break and said hello to the Golden State. Man it felt so good to leave that town. My heart was stuttering, beating a nervous rhythm, but you took my hand when I offered it, and I’m so happy that I did. Because you shook me like a Polaroid picture where every day is summer. Please don’t let me ever forget this moment, because everything is perfect. I’d give anything for just one glimpse of the love that we were in, and how it felt like yesterday. But there’s been times I still believe I’ll close my eyes, and you’ll still be there by my side. Please let this dream come true tonight. I won’t forget the way it felt when our lips met.

My New Sleeping Pattern
03:42
I’ve completely lost track of time because I can’t see the sun. There’s no windows in this room you’ve locked me inside with you. There’s no storm that I can weather without my hoodie on and your fingers locked in mine. A breath for air and we’ll be fine. When you’re gone away I can’t think straight, would you please come back to me? I’m awake all night and asleep all day, an empty shell, at least until you come back because the only cloud hanging over this town is over my head until I see you again. So don’t wake me up while I’m sleeping because I’m dreaming of you. It’s not bad, it could be better. We’re just killing time, and there’s a missing hand on every single clock tonight. Love is just a swear word I swore I’d never use, but it rolls off the tongue quite nice, and I think I want it to.

Constant
03:04
Am I coming in loud and clear? Because I’m ready to go. Because right now, change is the only constant I’ve ever known. I’ve been doubting myself for too long, I’m so much more capable than I’ve been letting on. This is my wake up call. I’m twenty three and invincible. Oh well, here goes nothing once again. The next chapter is only waiting to begin. I’m no longer anchored by the pen scratching waves onto the parchment, but if I set sail with these words, then I’d go down with them. I’m a constant work in progress, always moping around and saying “I’ll figure it out,” but I waved at every chance I got as it walked on by. I saw the lights go out and I lost sight of what I had, but I’m lighting a fire now and you’ve handed me the match. And I’d still set this town ablaze if you’d still stand beside me to watch it all go up in flames.

The Longest Nights
03:13
I brought you the fire that burned in my heart just to show you what could grow from a spark. I guess you’ve been burned too many times. I never could catch your eye, could I? Now I’ve got this head full of smoke and ashes on the tip of my tongue. You put me out like a cigarette and what’s left of me is in your lungs. And the hardest part of all of this is I’m still here, still waiting. I was there through the longest nights. It was never real easy to give up on you. What a catch, what a mess. I simply cannot forget the way your eyes collided with mine on the day that we met. Now I should leave before I say something I’ll regret, the same way that you did when you left me here wondering. All this time I was simply waiting for you to walk away.

Tequila Mockingbird
03:19
I feel miles away. I’ve been writing down your name just to fill the space on this empty page, still at a loss for all the words to say. You skipped me like a stone across the lake on your way home, now I’m ready and waiting to drown. Tell me, when did it get so late? You’ve probably got somewhere to be, I’m way too drunk but here’s the keys. Can we just take a drive? I’m low on gas and it’s cold outside, but your touch could be enough tonight. When you’re away I feel so strange, but I’m just the ringing on your ears on a quiet day to make up for the lack of sound; you only hear me when there’s no one else around. Oh god, I’d kill to have you here tonight. Just say yes when you decide.
